(45) *Kobitay Chandogya Upanishad * (Part 5 , Ch 24 )

॥ पञ्चमोऽध्यायः ॥

॥ चतुर्विंशः खण्डः ॥ 
---------------

स य इदमविद्वाग्निहोत्रं जुहोति यथाङ्गारानपोह्य भस्मनि जुहुयात्तादृक्तत्स्यात् ॥ १ ॥

अथ य एतदेवं विद्वानग्निहोत्रं जुहोति तस्य सर्वेषु लोकेषु सर्वेषु भूतेषु सर्वेष्वात्मसु हुतं भवति ॥ २ ॥

तद्यथेषीकातूलमग्नौ प्रोतं प्रदूयेतैवँहास्य सर्वे पाप्मानः प्रदूयन्ते य एतदेवं विद्वानग्निहोत्रं जुहोति ॥ ३ ॥

तस्मादु हैवंविद्यद्यपि चण्डालायोच्छिष्टं प्रयच्छेदात्मनि हैवास्य तद्वैश्वानरे हुतँ स्यादिति तदेष श्लोकः ॥ ४ ॥ 

यथेह क्षुधिता बाला मातरं पर्युपासत एवँ सर्वाणि भूतान्यग्निहोत्रमुपासत इत्यग्निहोत्रमुपासत इति ॥ ५ ॥

|| চতুর্বিংশতি খন্ড ||

(১) যে বিনা বৈশ্যানরাত্মা-জ্ঞানে দেয় অগ্নিহোত্র-নৈবেদ্য,
তার অগ্নিহোত্র  যেন বিনা-অঙ্গারে নেভা ছাইপরে দেওয়া অর্ঘ্য !! 

(২) যিনি এ জ্ঞানে আসি অগ্নিহত্রে দেন তাঁর আহুতি ,
সে অর্পণ ছড়ায় সর্ব্বলোকে , প্রতি প্রাণে, আত্মায় প্রতিটি !!  

(৩)যেমনে খাগড়ার লতি, দিলে অগ্নিপরে, মুহুর্ত্তে জ্বলিয়া যায়,,,
এ জ্ঞানে দিলে অগ্নিহত্রে হোমাদ, তাঁর সব পাপ জ্বলিয়া ফুরায় !! 

(৪) যদি কোনো ব্যক্তি 
যিনি এ জ্ঞানের জ্ঞানী ,
তাঁর বাঁচা অন্ন কোনো 
চন্ডালে করেন দান ,, 

তাহা নৈবেদ্য হয়ে 
পৌঁছায় বৈশ্যানরাত্মায়....
এ-উপরি বলা আছে 
এই শোলোকখান >> 

(৫) ' যেমনে হয় জড়ো ক্ষুধার্থ শিশুরা
আসি মায়ের চারিপাশে..
তেমনে সকলি আসি জুটে এই
অগ্নিহত্রের চারিপাশে ..... '

Chapter 24

(The Glory of the Agnihotra Sacrifice )

(1) If, without knowing this knowledge of the Vaisvanara Self, one offers an Agnihotra oblation, it is like an oblation offered in dead ashes after removing the live coals.

(2) But if; knowing this, one offers an Agnihotra oblation, it is like an oblation offered in all the worlds, in all beings and in all atmans.

(3) Even as the soft fibres of the ishika reed, when thrown into fire, are burnt, so also are burnt all the sins of one who, knowing this, offers an Agnihotra oblation.

(4) Therefore even if a man who knows this gives what is left of his food to a chandala, he verily offers it to his Vaisvanara Self. On this there is the following verse :

(5) As here on earth hungry children gather around their mother, so do all beings gather around the Agnihotra sacrifice, yea around the Agnihotra sacrifice......
